The secret something that is shared by all effective healing methods is the process of leading the patient to an honest and truthful self-discovery. This self-discovery is required for the initiation and continuation of self-healing; for it is only through self-healing- in contrast to curing- that patients can experience both permanent recovery and spiritual growth….
~ Dr. John E. Upledger
CranioSacral therapy (CST) aims to improve the functioning of the central nervous system and assist the body in its natural healing process by locating and releasing restrictions in the craniosacral system–comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
CranioSacral therapy is performed while the client is fully clothed and uses a very light touch–about the weight of a nickel. The work is generally seen as very soothing and relaxing. Some clients report that the sensation is very subtle, but for others it can feel very big. Many clients report falling asleep, or being in a sort of twilight state.
Among the issues for which CranioSacral therapy can be especially effective are frequent headaches, back pain and stress related issues.
